Hssiss, the Dark Side Dragons

Hssiss, or dark side dragons, were a lizard species with the ability to influence Force-sensitive beings around them. If bitten by a hssiss, one would succumb to the effects of a dark side poison. Hssiss also had the ability to conceal themselves and become invisible, possibly doing so through the Force. Hssiss originated as savage reptilian predators on Ambria, and were one of the few creatures to survive the planet's destruction. They lived in and near Lake Natth, where Jedi Master Thon had imprisoned the dark side energies that had plagued the planet for millennia. The dark spirits then began to possess the creatures, turning them into something much fouler—it was said that these "dark side dragons" aided those who used the dark side of the Force. Eventually, Great Bogga began to use them as body guards and pitted them against those who had failed him. When he realized how effective and vicious they were, he had them transported offworld and sold in bulk. Soon, Hssiss could be found all over the galaxy, especially on worlds where the dark side was strong, including Korriban, Mimban^[1] and Vjun.

In appearance, Hssiss looked nothing more than particularly vicious reptiles, about three meters in length, with a green, scaly hide. In addition to those three meters, they had a meter long tail, covered in rows of spikes which stretched up past their backs and onto their necks. When in the lakes on Ambria, they hunted in pairs, grasping their prey with their strong jaws and sinking dozens of teeth into the unfortunate animal's body, while the other Hssiss sunk its jagged claws into it.

Dark lizards were a species of hssiss.

Overview

As creatures of the Force, they had a limited ability to mask their presence. Hssiss were drawn to suffering and carnage. After the Jedi Civil War and the devastation of the planet Korriban, they fed upon all the corpses left behind from the war, while the angry phantoms of the Sith—too weak to influence the sentient—took these hssiss as thralls to their will, fending off all intruders who landed on the planet.

They were found on many planets throughout the galaxy, including Korriban, Ambria, Mimban and Vjun. Their prevalence was probably the result of being brought with Sith armies in their many wars. Many scientists believed the hssiss originated from the planet Stenness.

The Jedi philosopher Tionne Solusar once met with a hssiss on the planet Ambria. She killed it by removing its head with her lightsaber, but did not escape unscathed. The hssiss had slashed her with its claws, and only a Jedi healing trance proved able to remove the venom. This led her to believe that the poison was spawned from the dark side of the Force.

Behind the Scenes

In Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, Ludo Kressh's tomb on Korriban contains an infinite hssiss spawn next to a dead Jedi. By looting the body, two hssiss spawn. This is the basic level up glitch.

Strangley when using Force Vision to see the Force alignment Hssiss are colored blue for a lightsider rather than red.

I didn´t even knew that these creatures existed, kinda of crashed in them by chance, when I was looking for something else. This is just one great thing that happens a lot with Star Wars stuff, you are looking for a specific thing, but you end up looking at other completely different :)

Yesterday there was a costume party with lots of friends, to celebrate "Tinker Bell´s" birthday. It was a great party. Check some of the pics :)

Something, Something, Something, Dark Side...

"Something, Something, Something, Dark Side" is an upcoming episode of the FOX animated television series Family Guy and the sequel episode to the critically acclaimed, hour-long Star Wars episode Blue Harvest. It will retell the story of The Empire Strikes Back as "Blue Harvest" did with A New Hope, recasting characters from Family Guy into roles from the film. It was originally scheduled to air as the 7th season finale,^[2] but has been pushed back to season 8.^[3] However, Seth MacFarlane has said that the episode will premiere on DVD before it goes to air.^[4] Like the previous installment, the poster for "Dark Side" is based on the design of an actual Star Wars poster. The title is also a reference to a previous episode.

iPhones can now be turned to the Dark Side of The Force. You just need to choose between Darth Vader or a Stormtrooper, wheter you like it in a bossy way or a more submissive approach. You choose. Both are black, combining perfectly with the Dark Side.

I wonder, will the lucky ones get a chance to talk like Vader using it?...

Recently, we gave you a sneak peek at the products within the first season of the exciting new adidas Originals Star Wars collection. Now here is a set of images which showcase the collection in all its glory and bring to life the inspirations behind each piece in the range.
The collection for the first season is split into three packs -- The Characters Pack, the Vehicles Pack and the Direct Pack. The products in each pack take inspiration from the respective aspect of the Star Wars lexicon from legendary characters and crafts to classic scenes and fuse them with iconic adidas Originals silhouettes. The pieces will begin to hit all adidas Originals stores and other select retailers in January. Characters Pack

"Mostra única sobre a mítica saga "Star Wars" de 20 de Novembro a 31 de Dezembro

O Universo Star Wars vai tomar conta do El Corte Inglés Gaia Porto de 20 de Novembro a 31 de Dezembro.

Artefactos usados na rodagem dos filmes que constituem a saga, miniaturas e dioramas, peças de coleccionismo e toda a parafernália de peças que fazem parte do imaginário de gerações de fãs da série criada por George Lucas, vão poder ser vistas e admiradas em 1.200 m2 de área de mostra e eventos.

O público vai poder ver mais de 30 anos da história do cinema, retratados numa mostra única que reúne mais de duas mil peças referentes a Star Wars. Será interessante neste tema referir que grande parte das peças são "vintage", expressão que no mundo dos coleccionadores se refere ao período compreendido entre os anos de 1977 e 1985.

Nesta área destacam-se peças como capacetes restaurados, réplicas de armaduras, ou até o primeiro artigo de merchandising que a marca de brinquedos Kenner colocou no mercado em 1977, ano da estreia do primeiro filme da série, A Guerra das Estrelas.

Durante os 41 dias em que o espaço vai poder ser visitado, está programada uma série de eventos com Star Wars como tema. Todos os dias vai ser apresentada a Escola de Jedi, um espaço lúdico em que os mais jovens são convidados a ter aulas com cavaleiros Jedi, especialistas no controlo da "força" e no manejo do sabre laser e a combater as forças do mal, personificadas no Imperador e no sinistro Darth Vader.

A animação vai ser constante, com mostras de excertos de filmes, traillers e a permanência de alguns dos personagens, como os Guerreiros Brancos, Cavaleiros Jedi, Dart Vader e tantos outros, que certamente farão as delícias dos fãs."

Well, I must say this is one of the most geekest thing I ever saw! A Tauntaun Sleeping Bag, what else will these guys come up with? :)
This product is so geek, that even Luke Skywalker´s clothes are on the inside, as well as a lightsaber with zipper functions. And as they say on the description, "Smell not included"... Sweet!

Bem, devo dizer que esta é das coisas mais geek que já vi! Um saco cama Tauntaun, de que mais estes gajos se vão lembrar? :)

And once again, a newsletter tip :)
This month is being prophicuous in terms of pleasant news for the Outter Rim, if I might say. I found this character to be my favourite Twi´lek, due to her Sith tattoos, red and black skin, and sexy powerfull pose. About two years ago I started to read the comic "Star Wars: Legacy", and right in the beggining of the tale Talon passes her Master´s test "without flinching". My attention was taken for the years to come.

Novamente, uma dica vinda de uma newsletter :) Este tem sido um mês profícuo em termos de agradáveis notícias desde a Orla Exterior, se assim o posso afirmar. Cheguei à conclusão de que esta é a minha personagem Twi´lek favorita, devido às suas tatuagens Sith, à pele vermelha e negra, e à sua poderosa pose sexy. Há cerca de dois anos iniciei a leitura do comic "Star Wars: Legacy", e logo no início do conto Talon passa o teste do seu Mestre "sem pestanejar". Estava conquistada a minha atenção para os anos vindouros. Agora ela surge numa magnífica estátua da Sideshow Collectibles. Cliquem na imagem para mais fotos. Fenomenal!

In the last Star Wars newsletter that I received, I found a pretty interesting item about SW quotes. After some testing, I confess that it´s hard to mix some of these sounds, just because there are so many, which is a good thing. The "Breathing" is the best! Click the pic and try for yourself. It´s pretty cool!

Na última newsletter Star Wars que recebi, encontrei um item sobre frases e sons das personagens SW bem interessantes. Após alguns minutos de testes confesso que não é nada fácil misturar alguns destes sons, simplesmente porque são imensos, o que é algo bom. O "Breathing" do Vader, é o melhor!
